Throughout 2017, Eurovision Union was dedicated in bringing you Weekly Playlists with new music from Eurovision and National Final stars, new and old, as well as stars we’d love to see at Eurovision one day! We made so many musical discoveries, and through 2018, we want to share with you which songs we’ve been loving! Some songs will come and go, and some will stick around – here are our Eurovision Union Chart Toppers!
1. Tifældigt – Basim (=)
Another week, another #1 finish for Basim, and essentially since our last Chart Toppers 2 weeks ago, this song has by far been listened to the most. I don’t think we could be any more obsessed, even if we tried.
2. Serio – Emis Killa feat. Capo Plaza (=)
Our Chart Toppers is looking awfully familiar so far, with Emis Killa and Capo Plaza also retaining their place in our most played list. It’s one of now few Italian rap songs we’re still listening to, as you’ll remember our first few Chart Toppers were full of Italian rap artists! We’re still very much in love with this song!
3. Dance You Off – Benjamin Ingrosso (=)
Well that’s three from three, with Benjamin Ingrosso also holding his place in our Chart Toppers. We’ve loved this song ever since that first Melodifestivalen semi-final, and we know it will be one of our firm favourites going into Eurovision. Will Benjamin hang around in our Chart Toppers till then? We speculate yes, but time will tell!
4. Dit Sanna Jag – Molly Sandén feat. Leslie Tay (NEW)
It took a few listens to this gem of a pop track to realise just how good this is, but it’s safe to say we’ve been won over. Last year, Molly returned with a Swedish language song Rygg mot Rygg, which we were obsessed with, and since then she’s released two more Swedish language songs, and they are both incredible. Credit to Leslie Tay who also makes this song totally awesome!
5. Fuego – Eleni Foureira (NEW)
She’s hot as fire alright, and this track from the Cypriot Eurovision representative Eleni Foureira is an absolute earworm. It’s got a bit of an ethnic feel about it, and even though the lyrics are at times a bit predictable, we can’t help but love this.
6. Comme Ci Comme Ça – Basim (=)
Having been in our Chart Toppers since we first launched this series at the beginning of the year, it has reached that point where we just don’t have much more to say about this and the following song both by Basim. Yep, we’re still obsessed.
7. Aji Aji – Basim (=)
See above!
8. Bones – Equinox (NEW)
We love this song beyond the bones, it’s official. Bulgaria has absolutely nailed it this year, and we think they’re in for another Top 10, or even Top 5 finish. We’ve already posted our Eurovision review on this song, so we won’t go into too much detail here!
9. Cry – Dotter (↑10)
He may not be worth it, but this song is totally worth being in our Chart Toppers. We have to be in a certain mood to listen to this track, but that mood has struck a lot over the last two weeks, and we’ve been feeling totally empowered by this one!
10. Perdonami – Salmo (=)
It’s one of those tracks that’s been in our Chart Toppers for the entire time we’ve had this series, so we won’t go into too much detail on this one. You’ve read it all before!
11. In My Cabana – Margaret (↓6)
We’re going ape for this song, even though it’s dropped a few spots in our Chart Toppers since last time. It’s our go-to for when we need a bit of a bop, and it gets us singing along every time!
12. Mamma Mia – LOUKA (↓4)
It’s the only song from France’s national selection that’s stayed in our playlist, and for good reason. Although the result didn’t quite go his way at the national selection, we definitely think that this song was one of the best studio versions!
13. Every Single Day – Felix Sandman (↓9)
There’s a reason why this song came second at Melodifestivalen, and that reason is because it’s just so damn good. Benjamin Ingrosso served up the pop tune of the competition, and Felix offered up one of the best of the sensitive entries of the competition.
14. Nobody But You – Cesar Sampson (NEW)
The deep voice has definitely won us over, as we’ve been really loving the Austrian Eurovision entry this year. Although we love the whole song, that ending note is the real show stopper!
15. All The Feels – Renaida (↓6)
Although it’s dropped down a bit in our Chart Toppers since last time, we’re still enjoying this track from Renaida, who we think definitely deserved a higher place at Melodifestivalen! Her voice really is incredible, and suits this track perfectly!
16. Outlaw In ‘Em – Waylon (↓5)
We’ve had the pop and the rap songs, and now it’s time for a bit of country rock! It’s not to everyone’s taste, but we’re really enjoying the Dutch Eurovision entry this year, especially the choruses!
17. Lie to Me – Mikolas Josef (↑1)
We aren’t lying to you when we say this song is addicting, and that’s why it’s hanging around our playlists. There’s a reason why fans are loving this song, and we hope to see the Czech Republic score highly with this earworm!
18. Last Breath – LIAMOO (↓3)
Another fantastic song to come out of this year’s Melodifestivalen, and it mixes a bit of the hip-hop style with a more traditional pop song structure. We’re loving LIAMOO’s music, so keep it coming!
19. Won’t Let You Go – Poptracker feat. Nathan Trent (↓5)
This is one of those songs that we need to be in a certain mood for, but an occasional listen keeps us pretty satisfied. We love Nathan Trent’s voice, no matter what song, we’re certain to be a fan of all his work!
20. Guersace – Gue Pequeno (↓8)
This is one of the tracks which has been in our Chart Toppers since the start, but this fortnight has been a bit neglected! We still love it, but we were loving the other songs a bit more. Whether this will stick around to the next Chart Toppers or not remains to be seen!
